Birthday booklist

I have rather eclectic tastes when it come to reading. It’s my birthday today and my family have kindly pitched in to update me with a huge pile of new books. I’m really looking forward to reading:

The Cat’s Table by Michael Ondaatje
The Prague Cemetery by Umberto Eco
The Second World War by Anthony Beevor
Midnight in Peking by Paul French
Peaches for Monsieur le Cure by Joanna Harris
The Queen by Ben Pimlott
Eat your Heart Out by Felicity Lawrence
Happier at Home by Gretchen Rubin
River of Smoke by Amitav Ghosh
Bringing up the Bodies by Hilary Mantel
The Marriage Plot by Jeffrey Eugenides

These are mainly new books by authors I’ve really enjoyed in the past, with a few I’ve come across when reading reviews thrown in for good measure. I’ll keep you posted on what they’re like over the next few months as I make my way through them. Meanwhile Happy Thursday to you all – the sun’s even out!
